Precious Pieces uses natural adhesives which mainly come from plant sources for interior applications.

Our natural home-made adhesives are from organic sources such as vegetable matter, starch (dextrin), natural resins or from animals (bioadhesives).
Though today synthetic adhesives are commonly used,
Precious Pieces stays with vegetable based adhesives e.g. konjac , urushi or starch glue for shoji screens, fusuma doors, wall coverings and many other applications. Wood joining, bookbinding and many other areas traditionally use collagen glues.

The use of natural adhesives dates back to 700 AD in Japan and continues today in the US.
